Event Manager (ER/3457) 12 month Fixed Term Contract (maternity cover)

Sydney: $70-80,000 plus superannuation

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to expand their experience in event travel logistics and medical meetings. This challenging role is deadline-driven and fast-paced so we are looking for an experienced event professional who is agile and solutions focused.

 Duties

  • Manage all administration including invoice processing, budget tracking, meeting agendas, and project plans
  • Manage the medical meeting compliance process to ensure events are delivered on time
  • Manage all stakeholders and keep them updated on the progress of the event
  • End to end budget control and negotiation, contract negotiation and management
  • Management of online registration websites and the client’s internal CRM system
  • Management of third party suppliers, agencies and all internal product areas
  • Preparation of thorough briefing notes and onsite materials
  • Onsite event management providing registration support and managing venues and suppliers
  • Debrief all events, reporting on and analysing outcomes according to standard operating procedures
  • Contribute to the ongoing operational excellence of the team, proactive in highlighting process improvements

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in corporate events and conferences, having worked either agency or in-house
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing a wide range of successful events from inception to completion including produce event collateral, attendee management, coordinate group travel
  • Proficient with Event Management Software such as Events Air and Aventri
  • Knowledge / Experience in Group Air, considered an advantage
  • An eye for detail and proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to multitask between simultaneous events and work to tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong financial management and negotiation skills including budget development and analysis
  • Flexibility to work out of office hours and travel when required in the event calendar
  • Must be confident in building relationships with stakeholders and clients of all levels
