Conference Producer & Publishing Manager (ER/3251)

Sydney: c$80,000 package

This leading industry association seeks a capable Conference Producer to manage the development and delivery of the technical program for their major annual conference/exhibition event. This will entail working with an industry committee, presenting content to members after the event for continuous learning purposes and managing the online hub for technical publications as well as supporting the events and marketing teams on other projects and events as required.

Specifically, this will involve managing and reviewing the “call for papers” process, managing speakers (receiving papers/presentations, registrations, preparing bios), identifying speaker presentations for marketing purposes, providing all data & content for both online and print purposes, transferring conference program content to other platforms including social media, podcasts, videos, and other interactive channels and changing technologies, managing an online e-journal platform including identifying new ways to present content (e.g. video and podcasts), coordinating stakeholders including editorial specialists and authors, securing technical papers on an ongoing basis and selecting executive summaries to feature in print media publications.

You will require at least three years conference production experience with a track record of success in technical program management. You will also have an understanding of marketing concepts and experience in the presentation of content in different formats and be tech savvy with advanced Microsoft Office suite and database management skills, CMS and HTML experience and able to use dedicated software for receiving/reviewing abstracts, and papers.

This successful mid-sized creative agency is seeking an accomplished Senior/Executive Producer with around 10 years’ experience to lead and direct an event production and logistics team and ensure all events meet/surpass client expectations and delivery standards and minimum budget and profit margins are achieved.

Specifically, you will oversee the recruitment, training and counselling of staff; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning job accountabilities; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; developing incentives and generally motivating and inspiring the team to engender a strong team culture.

You will also be responsible for facilitating the creative concept development of client event projects including production and resource feasibility, creative execution options, supplier partnership management and technology solutions. Specifically, you will be responsible for accountability of event projects including overseeing all creative, technical, video, data production and print design elements for multiple and concurrent projects. Specifically you will be responsible for sourcing, pitching and quoting on new and existing event projects; researching new customer segments and potentially expanding service offering; managing CRM whilst ensuring integrity of data; establishing and maintaining contact with existing clients; representing the brand at various public and private events and preparing target lists of clients for entertainment purposes.

To be a success in this role you will have sound technical understanding of event production lighting, audio and vision, which could have been gained in a creative marketing or event agency, live production, broadcast television or AV equipment hire industries. You will also have strong account management skills and desire to focus in a business development role.
