Sydney: To $65,000 plus super plus bonus (c$85,000 package OTE)
Prominent global events & exhibition organiser seeks a capable Business Development Manager to source and build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals and generate momentum for the exhibition sales function from both new and existing business sources.
Specifically you will be responsible for achieving personal exhibition and sponsorship revenue targets, enhancing new business across the scope of events, developing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients, exhibitors, sponsors and partners, writing high quality sales proposals, keeping abreast of market and competitor developments and identifying and researching new growth areas for sales. You will also initiate client visits, attend industry functions, produce sales plans and reports and assist with the operational running of events onsite.
To succeed in this role you will require a proven background in the generation of sales and new business including the ability to convert new business in challenging markets. You will also possess a consultative selling approach, solid sales planning and goal setting skills.
You will also be highly pro-active, tenacious, self-motivated and driven by success, an excellent communicator, networker and negotiator, the ability to work well under pressure, a collaborative team focus, high personal standards and problem solving ability and the capacity to take responsibility.
